Hey! My name is Svea and I'm an artist from Minnesota. I work mainly in digital and ceramics :) My main interests are animals, bugs, bones, ecology, and botany. I also love cartoons and graphic novels!
My favorite visual artists are: Em Niwa, Tillie Walden, Tina Yu, Julian Miholics, and Shanna Van Maurik! They all have such cool art and I am secretly in love with them <3

artist statement: on insects
My work on a general level is inspired by biology and the inner workings of the body, kitschy and creepy things, as well as the tiny creatures we share our spaces with: insects. I love learning about insects, especially the ones deemed unattractive, gross, or scary by society. My art is fueled by a healthy amount of obsession and curiosity: I want to know everything about these bugs: how they function and what their lives are like.
